BiographyGiuliano Mingardo PhD is a senior researcher specialised in parking policy and urban mobility. The focus of Giuliano’s research is in understanding how people move in and around urban areas and how policy, spatial planning and the quality of the living environment can influence the mobility behavior of people. Giuliano regularly advises (local) governments and companies on these issues. Main research areas

- The city as a walk-in closet - how urban trends influence personal use of space
This project focuses on an underexposed aspect of human activities in the city: stuff. Through literature research, interviews with experts and scenario analysis, the study explores possible developments and their consequences for the government and the market.

- DISCO - sustainable urban logistics
European project on implementation of zero-emission urban logistics, based on the Physical Internet concept. Erasmus UPT specifically focuses on the use of underused terminals at the city's periphery for sustainable last-mile logistics (DISCO-BAY).
Duration: 2023-2025
Project partners: Horizon Europe, CERTH, FIT, Ghent, Copenhagen, Thessaloniki, BUAS and others.
- Zero Carbon Infrastructure project
ZCI will strengthen the role of 8 Public Authorities to accelerate the provision of zero carbon infrastructure by increasing their capacity and working with private and public stakeholders, and provide capacity-building support for others.
