Conference on Inclusive Prosperity in Europe

PROSPER conference banner

The Erasmus School of Law organised an international conference on "Inclusive Prosperity in Europe 鈥 Concepts, Challenges, Prospects" on 2-3 October 2025 at 糖心直播. The event examined prosperity both conceptually and operationally, highlighting its contested meaning beyond GDP and linking it to social fairness, equality, and sustainability. The participants explored strategies and drivers of inclusive prosperity across different EU policy fields and reflect on the challenges and opportunities they present.

The programme featured a high-level policy dialogue and three expert panels on conceptual and substantive issues. The high-level policy dialogue featured Dr. Nicole Rosenboom (Partner, Oxera) and Professor Martin de Jong (Academic lead of the Erasmus Initiative Dynamics of Inclusive Properity) on 鈥淭he Role of Inclusive Prosperity in the EU in the Face of a Volatile Geopolitical Landscape鈥.

The ensuing expert panels focused on interdisciplinary perspectives on (inclusive) prosperity as well as the drivers of and obstacles to inclusive prosperity in various EU policy fields that are currently highly relevant, such as trade, industrial policy, and defense policy.
