The Management Instructions are set up by the Executive Board and describe how our School organises the various managerial sub-tasks and the power of the Dean, Management Team, Directors, and (assistant) managers.

In the School Regulations, the tasks and authorities of the School Council are set down. With regard to the School Council, the Erasmus School of Economics School Regulations specify:

• The function of the School Council
• The personnel staffing of the School Council
• How members are elected to the School Council
• The general tasks and authorities of the School Council
• Exceptional authorities of the School Council
• Exceptional tasks and authorities of the personnel council within the School Council
• Facilities for the Personnel Council within the School Council
• Legal protection for the Personnel Council within the School Council

In the School Council Rules of Procedure the School Council has set its daily routine. The Rules of Procedure stipulate the following:

• The proceedings of the School Council meetings
• The possibility of participation (of non-members) in the meetings of the School Council
• Decision-making in the School Council
• The exceptional authorities allotted to the Personnel Council within the School Council

The Election Regulations for Erasmus School of Economics stipulates how the members of the School Council are elected.

Since 2002 the Code of Integrity applies within Erasmus University of Rotterdam. This Code states that everyone within the EUR-community (students, directors, support staff and scientific staff) should act with dignity, and take responsibility for spreading these values in their near surroundings. 

Professionalism, teamwork and fair play are core values which are meant to guide behaviour of both staff and students. The Code of Integrity enables us to point out responsibilities towards each other. Furthermore, integrity is a recurring subject on annual job-evaluations.

Within EUR and Erasmus School of Economics certain procedures are applicable when signing of agreements etc. A FLAT-check has always to be carried out (FLAT stands for Finance, Legal, Audit and Tax).

In 2017 the EUR Doctorate Board has discussed a procedure to grant ius promovendi to Associate Professors, compliant to the possibilities offered by the Higher ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ Act (WHW) and the 'VSNU guidelines on granting ius promovendi to associate professors'. 

Erasmus School of Economics concurs with the EUR policy in granting ius promovendi to associate professors, nevertheless pursues a restrictive policy.
