Biography
Liesbeth Noordegraaf-Eelens is professor Transformative Academic ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ at the Erasmus School of Philosophy and has the professorship Transdisciplinary ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ Innovation at Codarts, University for performing arts. Since the beginning of her career, Liesbeth Noordegraaf-Eelens focusses on innovation in education. This started with innovations in tutor groups at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), resulting in the EUR Teacher of the Year Award in 1997. Subsequently, she contributed to innovations in honours programs as well as the set-up of a ESE wide skills programme. Since a couple of years, she is highly involved in the innovative Rotterdam Arts & Sciences Lab (RASL), a collaboration between ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥, Codarts University of Performing Arts and Willem de Kooning Academie Hogescholen Rotterdam. She contributed to the set-up of this Double Degree programme in the arts & sciences and she recently received grants to develop and study such ground-breaking, cross-discipline education: a Comenius Leader Fellowship and an *Erasmus-plus Strategic Partnership*. Currently she is director of ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ at the Erasmus School of Philosophy. Social impact is another red line through her career. She contributes to public debates by giving lectures or participating in debates, and she has numerous professional and popular publications. Following her PhD in 2010 she regularly appeared in national media, discussing the role of central bank presidents in times of crisis. She was awarded the \*ESE Impact Award\*for these academic public activities (at that moment still called the ‘ESE visibility award’). As co-chair of the Comenius network she is also well-connected to policy making in the field of higher educations. As a member of the Council for Public Health and Society (the RVS), she links academic teaching and research to a wider social agenda. Since January 2019 she is chair of Fame (the Female Academics Movement at EUR).
