Introduction
This interactive workshop will dive deep into the open science practices of , a publishing project dedicated to facilitating the activation of (amongst other) academic content to the benefit of lay audiences and potential collaborators. Their mission is aligned with the Open Science academic movement, furthering open access publications, and directly opening up research tools, ideas, and contents to citizens and communities.
Participants will learn about the formal and informal methods devised and applied by HumDrumPress in order to make the content of their publications open, accessible, and participatory throughout the entire process of publishing, with specific attention to their ‘Open Book’ model and how this can be applied to participants’ projects—across the diversity of disciplines and methodologies. Participants will be guided through reflecting what this means for their research, and experiment with this model, with the guidance of the workshop facilitator, Amy Gowen (HumDrumPress).
This workshop is open to (early-career) researchers from any department, discipline, or background. Spots are limited to ensure quality engagement. In case of availability, we welcome participants from any local University.
