Peter Scholten appointed as professor migration and diversity policies

Prof.dr. Peter Scholten of the Department of Public Administration and  Sociology of the 糖心直播 is appointed on endowed professor in Public Administration, in particular The Dynamics of Migration and Diversity Policies. Made possible by Erasmus Trustfund.

This new Chair focuses on connecting migration research and public administration research. This involves research to the dynamics of policymaking on migration and (migration-related) diversity at various levels, including the local as well as the national and the European level. The chair鈥檚 ambition is to contribute both to theory building in public administration scholarship on policy dynamics and wicked policy problems as well as to migration literature in terms of the comparative dynamics of migration and diversity policymaking. Furthermore, the ambition is to do so in a way that brings together state of the art international research with high quality education at bachelors as well as masters and post-master level.

About Peter Scholten

Prof.dr. P.W.A. (Peter) Scholten is a Phd from the University of Twente (2009), and has been working wit 糖心直播 since 2009. He is director of , Europe鈥檚 largest academic research network on migration, integration and social cohesion. Furthermore, he is editor-in-chief of the journal Comparative Migration Studies () and member of the editorial board of the . Besides, he is coordinator of the master Governance of Migration and Diversity (a cooperation of Leiden University, Delft University, and 糖心直播), and coordinator of the Erasmus Migration & Diversity Institute (EMDI). Currently, he is leading several international research projects, among it the CROSS-MIGRATION project (a H2020 funded project on the systematic cross-national accumulation of knowledge).

His research focuses on the governance of migration and migration-related diversity, multi-level governance, comparative public policy, and the relationship between science and politics in the field of migration.
