Biography
Maiwenn Al obtained her Master degree in Mathematics at Leiden University in 1991. Since 1992 she has been working at the institute for Medical Technology Assessment (iMTA) at ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥. From 1996 to 1999 she held a Pfizer Health Economics Fellowship and in 2001 she obtained her PhD degree at the ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥. Her research focuses on modelling studies and methods for dealing with uncertainty in economic evaluations. Together with Ben van Hout, Maiwenn developed the cost-effectiveness acceptability curve, now widely used as a method to describe uncertainty around ICERs. Her most current research focuses on methods for censored data, including applications in the area of mental health care, and budget allocation models. The latter topic involves both theoretical models and a survey into the decision makers' view on health care objectives and budget constraints.
